Kateřina Bohušíková

I come from Ostrava, but I have found my home in the picturesque village of Fryčovice, which constantly inspires me. I started painting in 2017, without knowing how profoundly it would change my life. It was a journey into the unknown that engulfed me and filled me in ways I could not have imagined. Although I studied marketing and later geoscience and mining tourism at VŠB, art found its way to me on its own – as if it was meant to be.

For me, painting is not only creation but also a form of escape. An escape from daily duties, from routine, and sometimes even from children's cries. :) Through colors, I can express my emotions and thoughts, and I put a piece of myself into each painting. I love the smell of paint, the unique process when something new and unexpected emerges under my hands. I never know in advance how a painting will turn out – everything is born in the power of the moment. And it is precisely this unpredictability that fascinates me. Every new painting is an exciting adventure for me, one I look forward to like a small child.

I believe that it is never too late to start something new. If you feel drawn to painting or any other passion, don’t hesitate. Don’t think about it for too long, don’t postpone your dreams – just start.

And how did the pseudonym KaBo ART Bohušíková come about?

KaBo ART is an abbreviation that carries the whole name and story. It was created by combining the first letters of the name and surname Kateřina Bohušíková and gradually evolved into a personal art brand. KaBo is the signature under which the creations are made – authentic, intuitive, and free.
